For convenience and flexibility, WorkflowMax allows you to add a client while you are creating a new job, quote or estimate.
If you just want to create a client at any other time, see Create a client from scratch.
Open the Add Client dialog
For information on how to get to the Add Client dialog, select the task you are completing.
- Creating a new job
- In the Jobs menu, select Jobs > New Job.
- Select Add Client (+).
- Creating a new quote
- In the Business menu, select Quotes > + New > New Quote.
- Select Add Client (+).
- Creating a new estimate
- In the Business menu, select Quotes > + New > New Estimate.
- Select Add Client (+).
Add a new client
To add a new client:

In the Add Client dialog, provide the following information, as required.
Field Description Client Information Name
The full name of the client. For example: Archway Business Contracts Limited
The client name is represented by a small coloured tile ("AB" in the above example). If you subsequently change the client name, you must refresh the screen to update the tile to ensure that it represents the new name.
Account Manager
The staff member who acts as account manager for this client.
Job Manager
The staff member who acts as job manager on jobs for this client.
Contact Name
Your primary contact for this job – other contacts can be added in the client manager.
Email address
Primary email address for this client – other email addresses can be assigned to specific contacts in the client manager.
Contact Information Address
Physical address.
Town/City
State/Region
Postal Code
Country
Postal Address
Postal address fields as for physical address.
Phone
Generic contact phone number for the client rather than for a specific contact person.
Fax
Web Site
Referral Source
The way that the client heard about your organisation, such as a Google search, for example. For further details, see the Referral Source help topic.
Financial Information Type
The client type A client type is a named set of payment terms, used to ensure consistency across your client base. For example, you might set up two client types: Premium, with a markup rate of 30% and payment terms of by 20th of next month, and Standard, with a markup rate of 40% and payment terms of within 7 days. When you add a new client, you can then allocate Premium or Standard payment terms, as required. .
Zero Rated GST
If this is an overseas client and you are exporting to them, you may not be required to collect sales tax, so select this checkbox to set the sales tax on your invoices at 0%.
